Milan to Bellagio: how to get there

In short
There is no direct Milan–Bellagio train: you reach Como in 40–60 minutes and from there choose ferry (2 hours), hydrofoil (45 minutes), C30 bus (about 70) or speedboat. Easily done in a day — and the stretch on the water is the best part.

Bellagio has no railway: everyone coming from Milan goes through Como, and that’s not a punishment — it’s the good part. The plan has two moves: train to Como, then the lake. Here is the short version with times and costs; each step links to its detailed guide.

Step 1: Milan to Como

Forty minutes from Milano Centrale to Como San Giovanni (€5.20, roughly hourly) or an hour from Cadorna to Como Nord Lago, which drops you on the lakefront right by the piers. Times, tricks and live boards in the dedicated article: Milan to Como by train.

Step 2: Como to Bellagio, four ways plus one

ModeTimeIn short
Ferry~2 hoursthe classic: slow, scenic, village stops
Hydrofoil~45 minfast, fully enclosed: zero romance, total efficiency
C30 bus~70 minthe cheapest, winding road
Car60–75 minnot recommended: parking in Bellagio is a profession
Speedboatwhen the journey IS the trip: villas, prosecco, Bellagio stop

Stops, seasonal timetables, ticket prices and honest advice on what to pick: it’s all in the full guide How to get to Bellagio from Como.

The beautiful shortcut: the speedboat with a Bellagio stop

Our three-hour shared tour leaves from the Como pier, runs up the lake past the villas — Balbianello, Clooney’s Villa Oleandra, the villages — and gives you a free hour ashore in Bellagio before heading back, prosecco on board. It’s the way of “getting to Bellagio” that becomes the memory of the holiday.

Our pier in Como
Viale Geno 12, on the lakefront: two minutes on foot from Piazza Cavour, five from Como Nord Lago station, fifteen from San Giovanni. The exact boarding point comes with your confirmation.
