Driving a boat on Lake Como without a licence
Italian law lets you drive a boat up to 40 hp without a licence, and that is exactly what our rental boats are. We meet you at the jetty in the centre of Como, walk you through the controls, the route and the areas to respect, and then the lake is yours: one or two hours to explore the first basin at your own pace, stop wherever you like for photos and enjoy the villas from the water. No skipper on board, but our phone is always on: if you have a doubt, you call and we answer. The boat takes up to 6 people, it runs every day at the same times as our tours and can also be booked online.

Engine within the legal limit (40 hp): you only need to be of age and bring a valid ID.

Do I need a boating licence?
No: the boats stay within 40 hp, the limit Italian law allows you to drive without a licence.
How many people can come?
Up to 6 people on board, children included.
How much does it cost?
105 € for one hour and 215 € for two hours, per boat. Fuel is excluded: a flat 25 € at the jetty, plus a 20 € deposit.
Who can drive?
You must be at least 18 and show a valid ID at the jetty.
Where can't I go?
Two rules always apply: stay at least 50 metres from the shore and keep clear of the seaplane runway. We explain the route at the briefing before you leave.
